TIL, that as we develop sophisticated computer systems on the Moon, we will have to deal with the fact that -- because of General Relativity -- Moon time actually runs at a different speed then Earth time. ie "microseconds" tick of at a slightly different rate on the Moon vs on Earth.
And computers these days are fast enough that this difference can introduce synchronization problems. Also potential problems with navigation computation.
NASA is developing a proposed standard for a special lunar time-zone and time-scale.
"The moon runs about 56 microseconds faster than on Earth." According to one commenter she meant 56 msecs "per day".
